serves as the eyes, ears and voice of the assisted living care
sector, ensuring that effective public policy, essential professional
enrichment, increased consumer awareness, important member services,
timely technical support and cutting edge information are available
to its members.

Advocates
for providers in the legislative and regulatory arenas through
pro-active, assisted living provider-specific initiatives and
activities. With two year-round lobbyists and an effective,
active Governmental Relations Committee, Nor-ALFA is a very
effective presence on Capitol Hill, and with the Department
of Social and Health Services.
- Offers
technical support - Nor-ALFA staff answer calls each month from
members seeking assistance on a wide range of issues. Nor-ALFA
staff will research answers, gather data and intervene with
federal, state and local regulatory bodies to help your organization
continue to provide efficient care to your residents.
- Provides
information, training and leadership opportunities for assisted
living providers throughout the Pacific Northwest.
- Increases
public awareness about assisted living as a care setting of
choice for consumers with the media, legislators, and community
leaders.
- Through
Nor-ALFA, assisted living providers can: § Have a voice in the
legislative process to help increase impact, influence, and
effectiveness of the ALFA and Nor-ALFA legislative agendas and
regulatory efforts.
- Network
with colleagues to share each others' experience and best practices,
and shorten the "learning curve" for regulatory requirements
and expectations.
- Be leaders
in the assisted living industry through involvement in committees
and work groups designed to enhance the representation efforts
for assisted living.
